Home visit policy
This is primarily a home visit euthanasia service. We can offer quality of life discussions and we do have clinical experience to give a second opinion for your pet if you wish at the time of a visit. We do not have access to investigatory equipment or access to a lot of pharmaceuticals and so should not be used as a normal clinical service. If your pet needs immediate veterinary attention, you should call the vet your pet is normally registered with or their out-of-hours service.
Appointment rescheduling and cancellations
Please give as much notice of a reschedule or cancellation as possible.
Insurance claims
We are happy to assist with any insurance claims after a home euthanasia visit with ourselves, and we do not charge for this service. It is worth knowing, that most insurance policies will not cover the entire fee for a home visit for euthanasia unless it can be shown that the animal should not be moved for health reasons. Part of the fee will be covered in most cases.
Please contact your insurance company for information regarding your specific policy.
We cannot make direct claims from the insurance company.
Abandoning a visit on arrival
Our vets reserve the right to abandon a pet euthanasia (before we have started) during the visit where our vet have safety concerns, e.g. pet is considered aggressive and potentially too dangerous to approach. In this event, 50% of the home visit charge will still be charged. If you know that your pet will be difficult to approach, please let us know before the visit, and tablets can be arranged to make your pet drowsy before we arrive.
Privacy policy
All personal data is held securely and will not be divulged to third parties without your express written consent e.g. if you wish us to inform your normal registered vet of your pet’s passing.
