Join us for our first Pet Memorial Walk
Saturday – 26 April 2025
10am for 10.30am start
East Carlton Park – Market Harborough
We invite you to honour the beloved pets who have touched our lives.
Bring a photo, share a memory, or simply walk with us in loving remembrance. It’s a day to celebrate their unconditional love, cherish the joy they brought into our lives, and find comfort in a community that understands.
All are welcome – whether you’re remembering a pet or supporting friends who are.
At Paws Over The Rainbow we understand how life changing losing a pet can be. It can be a very isolating experience and it is normal for families to struggle with the grief. We would therefore like to offer families an opportunity to meet likeminded people for a memorial walk in local beautiful nature.
Our first Pet Memorial Walk will be at East Carlton Park, at East Carlton, Market Harborough on Saturday the 26th of April. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you have needed our help in the past or you have not met us before. Please feel welcome to bring family and friends.
We will be meeting by the locomotive next to the car park at 10am for a 10:30am start. Car Parking is free. The walk will be about 30 minutes at a pace to accommodate everyone. Friendly calm dogs are welcome to join the walk. Please wear weather appropriate foot wear and clothes. There is a café on site if anyone would like a brew and cake afterwards.

The lovely Amy Bird and Peta Harris will be on hand to make sure everyone feels welcome and will lead the walk. They are both experienced qualified veterinary nurses with a passion for end-of-life care and an understanding of the grief caused by losing a pet. This understanding comes from their work supporting families in practice but as importantly from being pet owners themselves and knowing how it feels to lose a furry family member.

Please meet Amy, facilitator of our memorial walks:
Amy has loved animals since childhood and knew early on she wanted to become a veterinary nurse. Before qualifying, she worked in equine rehab, bred alpacas, and even grew mushrooms in France!
In clinical practice Amy discovered her passion for end-of-life care, supporting families through some of their hardest moments. She also plays an important role as moderator of our closed family support group.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys walking her two rescue dogs and getting creative with crafting.

Meet Peta, facilitator of our memorial walks:
Peta has over 20 years’ experience as a qualified veterinary nurse. Throughout her career, she has developed a passion for supporting senior patients and has gone on to qualify as a hydrotherapist, as well as gaining a certificate in Animal Behaviour. More recently, Peta played a pivotal role in establishing a dedicated bereavement room at her current practice, helping to provide families with a more peaceful, private and dignified environment when saying goodbye to their beloved pets.
Peta’s furry family currently consist of a bunch of guinea pigs, a 1 year old Cockador, a 1.5 year old Cocker Spaniel, and her lovely horse Monty.
